South Africa's Record breaking triumphs in world Cup 2023.

       The fourth match of ICC world Cup was played between Sri Lanka and South Africa. Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka won the toss and chose to bowl first. That decision of Sri Lanka was to be right when South African captain Bavuma was dismissed by Dilshan for just 8 runs. The great of 204 runs between Quinton de kock and van der Dussen pushed Sri Lanka bowlers on backfoot. Quinton de kock completed his maiden world Cup century on 83 balls by smashing 12 boundaries and 3 sixes. Soon after completing his century Quinton de kock was dismissed by Pathirana. Van der Dussen scored 108 runs and had 50 runs Partnership with Aiden Markram. But while for searching for Boundary van der Dussen lost his wicket to Dunith Wellalage. 

        But those great knock of Quinton de kock and van der Dussen was just a trailer. The real picture started when Aiden Markram smashed the Sri Lankan bowlers and scored the fastest century in ICC world Cup. He scored century in 49 balls. David Miller scored 39 runs and Jansen added 12 runs helping South Africa finish the innings at 428 for 5 wickets. From sri Lankan team Madushanka took 2 wickets ,while Rajitha, Pathirana and Wellalage took 1 wicket each.

          When Sri Lanka came to chase this mammoth target there start was not great.  There opener was dismissed for 0 in first over. The 66 runs partnership between Mendis and Perera stabilized Sri Lankan innings. Mendis scored 76 runs off 42 balls before getting out on Rabada's hard length. In the middle overs, there were no big partnerships formed. For the sixth wicket Asalanka and shanaka added 82 runs. In the end Rajitha and shanaka added 58 runs, but it wasn't Enough for them to win the match. Despite their best effort Sri Lanka managed to score 326 runs in 44.5 overs. Marco Jansen , Rabada, Maharaj  managed to take 2 wickets each. while Coetzee took 3 wickets from his 9 overs,  Ngidi  dismissed sri Lanka's top scorer Asalanka . South Africa beat Sri Lanka by 102 runs with their incredible  performance. Aiden Markram was awarded the Player of match for his phenomenal century.

• Aiden Markram holds the record of fastest century in ODI world Cup. He scored century on 49 balls. He surpassed previous record held by Kevin O'Brien , who scored a century in 50 balls. 
• The record of highest total in world Cup is also held by South Africa that is 428 runs. 
• It's the first time in world Cup that three batters made century in an innings. 
• 754 is highest runs scored in single match  of ODI world cup
