      Virat kohli made his international debut  for indian cricket team on August 18,2008 during the ODI match against sri Lanka. His deput was nothing short of extraordinary. Virat showcased his talent and potential from start. He started his World Cup career in 2011 as player. Virat scored 282 in 2011 world Cup which included a brilliant century against Bangladesh. The 83- run partnership between virat kohli and Gautam gambir helped india to overcome the tricky situation in 2011 final. India has won 2011 world Cup. He also played 2015 world cup and scored 305 in 8 matches, including a century against Pakistan. But India was defeated by Australia in semi-finals.
